Designed by me · Handcrafted by her

Casali wine totes are designed and created by me — but they are brought to life by the hands of the partner I chose to make them. This is her story, and how your tote is made.

A Business Built From Nothing

I could have had these made anywhere. What made me choose Adinda Sheila was that she didn't inherit her business — she built it herself, from nothing. Armed with a vast education and a deep belief that Indonesian craftsmanship belongs on the world stage, she started in one small room and grew it into a leather house that today creates for brands across the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Europe.

Above all, she is a woman-owned company in an industry where that remains rare — and she has used it to create real opportunity: employing skilled artisans, bringing more women into her workshop, and preserving a craft heritage for the next generation. That is the person making your wine tote, and it matters to me that you know her name.

How Your Tote Is Made

Roughly 80–85% of every Casali is made by hand. Machines come in only where they add precision or durability — never to replace the craftsman.

The leather is hand-cut, one die at a time, so her artisans can work around the natural character of each hide. Edges are folded, glued, and painted by hand across multiple coats. Every component is positioned and assembled by hand before it is ever stitched — and even the stitching, though done on an industrial machine, is guided entirely by the craftsman's eye for spacing, corners, and tension. The decisions that define quality — which leather, where it is placed, how it is finished, how it is inspected — stay human from start to finish.

That is what full-grain leather and real handwork give you: a tote that isn't identically stamped out, but one of a kind — made to age beautifully and carry a lifetime of good moments.
